The Jimenez Family

Happy little Hailey girl...

we celebrate YOU on this very special day!!!

One year ago, today, you made a grand entrance into our lives, our home, and our hearts!
You came as a surprise...but are treasured as a gift!!!

Every person in the family wants to hold you, help you, teach you, and scold you.
Yet you show all of us the same sweet little smile...always with a little twinkle in your eye.
Your gift of  life has been a reminder to us to slow down...
life goes by too fast...enjoy what we have been blessed with...and graciously thank God for it!

From newborn to toddler...so much about you has changed!
Personality is beginning to peak through...
and we are seeing glimpses of who you are inside.
Prayers are covering you morning and night...
as our hope for you will ever be to walk closely with Your Savior!

As this year opens up and a new chapter of life begins...
adventures will unfold (hopefully none involving the stairs! ;-) and independence will be gained.
But you will always and forever be our happy little Hailey girl!
We love you!!!

 Our house was filled laughter and joy when "Gammie" and Poppy came last week!
We were feeling a little bit lost and lonely with Daddy in South America...thankfully, we had a HUGE pick-me-up when these two arrived!!!
At just the right time...they stepped in and helped with EVERYTHING!

Lots of fun times playing and "experimenting" with the water...

Several different trips to the park...each one with a story to go along with it!
Exploring the creek, playing on the playground, taking a walk, or swinging...everything was more fun with Grammie and Poppy!

 A trip to Plaza Fiesta!

 And of course...no trip would be complete without...

 lots...

 and lots of ICE CREAM!!!

Yummy!!!

 A day picking berries at the strawberry patch!

 A little help with the picking...and the tasting! :-)

 And super special for us...they were here to help us celebrate Easter!

Yes, those are all the things remembered about when grandparents come to stay.
But for me...I will always treasure our talks centered around the Word and it's impact in our lives.
I am incredibly blessed to have strong, mature, godly-parents. I have watched their faith go through the test of fire and come out even more refined. Their wisdom goes beyond the trite sayings of this world...or pop culture remedies. It is eternal Truth that comes only from knowing God's Word.

When grandparents come to stay...there are lots of fun things to do, stories to tell, cuddles to be had...
but there is also kingdom work at hand.
The same hands and words that encouraged, exhorted, taught, and loved me are now in action in my childrens' lives.
For that, I am eternally grateful!!!

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;

this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone! who took on flesh

Fullness of God in helpless babe!

This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain:

Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!

And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,

For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,

This is the power of Christ in me;

From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.

No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;

Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
