The Jimenez Family

I am looking for someone to share in an adventure I am arranging,
and it's very difficult to find anyone.
Gandalf

Life around the house is pretty scheduled...

ordinary...

and at times...monotonous.
 We do school.
We do chores.
We make dinner.
Do more chores.
Go to bed.
And start all over again.

But sometimes, when the sun comes out and warms up our winter...an adventure is waiting to happen!

This week I surprised the kids and told them to pack a lunch...
pack a snack...pack a water bottle and get in the van.

Then we headed out to go hike Crowder's Mountain.

It was a beautiful day and the kids did an AWESOME job getting to the top!

Once there we decided to take a little break...

eat our lunch and just enjoy the view!

It was the PERFECT day for an adventure...and I'm so glad I have this crew to share it with me!

Time out for a toddler is a punishment.
Time out for a busy homeschool mom sounds like bliss.
So when my friend, Sarah, mentioned that she had free hotel points and wanted to share...
it did not take long for me to respond with a very exuberant YES!!!

We headed up to the mountains to do some hiking first.

The weather was gorgeous...

and having adult conversation without ANY interruptions...
well, except for the panting of breath and the occasional inhaler puff...
was amazing!!
We rested up at the hotel...read a book in SILENCE...
and then headed out for a yummy Mexican dinner.

The next day we started to drive back to Charlotte but decided to make a detour at The Cove.

We walked around and spent some time in the prayer chapel...

it was so peaceful and soul-filling.
Spending that time away with a friend...having non-stop conversations...quieting our hearts in nature and then in the beautiful prayer chapel...being reminded that all that we have is owed to Christ...
it was an incredible time out!!
