The Jimenez Family

Thanksgiving 2015
We have so many things to be thankful for...

for my cousin, Zana, coming to visit!!

When Z comes there are presents...laughter...shopping...eating...movie watching...silliness...and all kinds of fun!!!

We are thankful for...

Tyler's birthday!

Tyler and a couple of friends spent the day rock climbing.
He's past the days of themed birthday parties and favors...

but there is no age limit to brownies and ice cream!!

We are thankful for...

family coming for Thanksgiving!!!

Having lived in North Carolina for almost ten years, it is SO nice to have family close by.

My aunt and uncle and cousin game up from Georgia to join us for a wonderful Thanksgiving day celebration!

We are thankful for..

the blessing of home school!
The school year is in full swing now with math problems, science experiments, conjugated sentences...

and a couple of fun art projects to spice things up!!
The kids have been learning about Michelangelo and tried their hand at some "ceiling" paintings!

We are thankful for...

an amazing trip to the mountains!

Some friends of ours have a gorgeous cabin that they let us use for the weekend.
It was beautiful weather perfect for hiking...

playing...

spending time as a family...

enjoying the beautiful lake...

and picking up the PERFECT Christmas tree!!!

It took a LONG time to find the exact one!

We have had an artificial tree for the last several years...this was the first year we've actually gone to the mountains to pick ours out!

We finally found the best one...had it trimmed and loaded up for the drive home!

Wish I could say it fit perfectly in the house...but eight foot tall trees seem to grow as they leave the mountain top!

Thankfully, Jason and Jeremy were able to trim it down (leaving a massacre of pine needles everywhere) and fit it in the house!!

Hearts are full with much to be thankful for!!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is GOOD!!
Psalm 107:1

Tyler James...

the years are flying by...
and you are fast approaching the end of "boyhood" times.

You are such a blessing to our family...
how you serve...how you love...
how you lead your siblings...
how you share your thoughts...
how you daily ask God to show you who HE wants you to be.

We are learning to treat you as the young man you are...
with maturity...
with expectancy...
with grace.

And you are learning to have patience with your crazy family...
your over exuberant sisters...
your adoring little brother.

Tyler...
we are praying that God continues to be first and foremost in your life.
That your heart will love His Word...
that you seek to live for His glory...
that you know each and every day as you grow...
that we LOVE you!!

Happy 12th Birthday, big guy!!!
Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The changing of colors. The incredible smell of autumn. The crisp fresh air. The hint of winter. All of it wrapped up in a warm blanket and a crackling fire.

This fall brought us....

soccer practice and soccer games!!

Jackson had a blast playing on his soccer team.
He was content to play any position...kicking or blocking...shooter or goalie.

But his favorite part of the entire season was...Daddy taking him to Dunkin on practice nights!!

This fall also brought us...

a special friend that said,
"Hey...wanna go to the state capital

and visit the free museums with me and the kiddos?

And by the way, we can stay up there for free because of my gazillion hotel points?"

So that is exactly what we did...

and then on a whim we headed over to the state fair...

and "free" being the theme of the weekend...
got into the fair for FREE to enjoy the sights and smells and thrill of it all!!

We let the kids pick out ONE ride to go one (which was not very nice...but easy on our wallets!)

The girls picked the Ferris Wheel...

and the boys picked bumper cars!

And we tried as much fair food as we could stomach...

watched a BMX show...

played a few games...won a few prizes...

and called it a night!

It was a FUN trip!!

The fall also brought us...

The Response.

The Response was a six hour prayer gathering that drew thousands from different churches.
Jason helped with the preparation leading up to the event...and was blessed by the different relationships formed through it.

It was an incredible experience to pray with many different brothers and sisters in Christ.

The fall also brought us...

a girls day out!!!

Some sweet friends gave us some tickets to the Lollipops symphony...

Before the show, the girls got to try their musical skills on different instruments...

testing all four of the orchestra families...

Then they made a craft...ate a snack...and settled in for a beautiful, fun show!

Listening gave us all quite the appetite...so we decided to finish off our girls day out with some lunch at La Unica!

The fall also brought us...

LOTS of time outside to play...explore...do school...spend time with friends...and just enjoy all of God's amazing creation!!!
