 No more school!
No more lesson plans!
No more early mornings!
Hello SUMMER!!!

What better way to celebrate the start of summer than a huge bonfire...

with yummy s'mores...

or just burnt marshmallows!!

We were short one Jimenez...Tyler was off at camp with the rest of the students at Carmel.

We tried not to have too much fun without him! Although I can't say the same for him...

he looked like he was having a BLAST!!

Of course I scoured the update page each day...checking to make sure he was alive and well!

I doubt he missed us quite as much as we missed him!

Once he was safely back home to us, we had an impromptu tea party...

complete with yummy scones and cream!!

Jason has been in and out of town this last month speaking at camps and conferences all over.
Thankfully, we had VBS to keep us busy while he was gone.

Up early and heading to church every morning...and they still kept their smiles in place!

Tyler helped out as servant in Pharaoh's court....

and I was the tour guide.
It was fun to serve together and get to watch Tyler's acting skills come to the surface!

Amy was a helper with the second graders...and they definitely kept her busy!!

Jackson loved seeing his buddy, Louis, each day!!
It was a fun week and we learned so much about Moses and how God used him to accomplish much.

Once we were all home together, we headed up to the lake with some friends.

It was a gorgeous day...perfect for hanging out!!

After all of the serving he did at VBS and the fun we have been having...this guy was ready for a nap on the boat.

Summer is now in full swing.
We are loving our lazy mornings and spending our days outside.
But without a neighborhood pool to cool off in our kids were getting a bit restless.

Daddy to the rescue.
Stay tuned for the completion of his latest project!!
But for now...hello summer! We are so glad you're here!!

What do you get when you put a dozen or so pre-teens with loud music...a captive audience..
and some amazing dance moves?

The Living Loud team!
Amy has been blessed to serve on this team as they lead KidJam on Wednesday nights in worship.
She was a little reluctant at first...but in my completely objective opinion...was the BEST one up there!

Also on Wednesday nights, Amy has been spending a lot of time with her pre-teen class.
One of her leaders, Stephen Shannon, quickly picked up on all that made Amy "tick"!
And because of this, he chose her to receive a very special award.

Along with two of her friends, Amy received the "David Shannon" award.
It is given in memory of Stephen's younger brother who was killed his freshman year of college.
David was a leader at church and very much involved in the children's ministry.

So each year, his family choose several students that show exemplary leadership and bless them with a scholarship to summer camp.
This came as quite a surprise to Amy...but an incredible honor.
