The Jimenez Family

We go about our lives with duty, honor, and pride.

And neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night...
nor the winds of change, nor a nation challenged...
will stay us from the swift completion...
of our appointed rounds - ever...

AKA Tyler Jimenez

Thankfully, after our trip to Disneyworld, we had something...or rather someone...to look forward to in coming home. Grammie and Poppy Jimenez arrived several days after we got back to Charlotte. The kids were definitely on "grandparent-excitement-overdrive"!!! It was such a fun week!!!

First off, we took Grammie and Poppy to the pumpkin patch. It was a gorgeous day, and this little guy just went crazy with all the pumpkins! He got so excited picking them up and running around. He wanted to take ALL of them home...not just one!

The older kids have been there before - and became the "expert-tour-guides"...explaining what we were going to do and what we would see and of course, how to pick out the best pumpkin!!!

A tradition at the patch, is to hop aboard one of several old tractors and jump back in time to farmer days! Jackson loved the view from up high!!

We had the hayride all to ourselves - as well as the petting barn. The owners of the farm came out and talked to us about each animal there and their little quirks. We probably spent an HOUR just in the barn...but now we know ALL about the animals at Hunter Farms! :-)

*This cow is 32wks pregnant and she didn't do very much while we were there. I don't even know if she MOVED...just stood there chewing her hay. She and I bonded! I was so tempted to trade places with her!!!

The next day we celebrated Grammie's birthday. And instead of treating HER to dinner she treated US!!! She made homemade Red Chile Colorado....ohhhhhhhhh...my favorite! I ate so much that night, and the next day, and the next! :-) She even left a batch in my freezer! That woman knows how to spoil her daughter-in-law!!!

We DID treat Grammie to her favorite cake!! :-)

And of course, there was much more playing, book reading, puzzle time, craft time, park time, and just fun times that week with Grammie and Poppy!!

Sadly, all visits come to an end. The kids were heartbroken the night before Grammie and Poppy had to leave. Amy tearfully prayed that God would make the sun go backwards (that was in our devotions the night before). But alas...it did not happen...and Grammie and Poppy had to leave!
The golden two weeks of Grandparents-spoiling-love-and-attention has come to an end. It is back to real life for these children! But we are so very blessed to have TWO amazing sets of Grammies and Poppies...we love you so very very much!!! Thank you for coming to see us!!

What to say? Where to start??? First off...we had an AMAZING week at the most magical place on earth!!!! Disneyworld was a whirlwind of rides, shows, walking, crowds, ice cream, more rides, more shows...and of course - more ice cream!!! It was a week of treasured memories with our family that will not soon be forgotten!

Having Grammie and Poppy there made EVERYTHING so much more fun!!! They went on whatever rides the kids wanted to go on, watched all the shows, supplied all the ice cream...and even managed to spoil them on top of all that! :-)

Racking up points on Toy Story Mania!

Visiting Mickey's House!
About to go on Test Track!

Taking a little break!

Getting ready for Its Tough to be a Bug - 3D!

A HUGE thanks to my super talented friend Jenny for MAKING our cute matching shirts for us before we went! They were a huge hit...and made it easy to spot everyone in a crowd! :-)

Watching Tyler and Amy's faces after each ride or show made the whole vacation. This being their first trip to Disney, they really did not know what to expect. In fact, driving into Orlando there were several minature golf courses on either side of the road. One of them had a mountain with a waterfall running down the side of it...Amy looked out and yelled, "I see Splash Mountain!!!" :-)

After having ridden it four times...I'm sure she won't make that mistake again!

Tyler wanted to go on EVERY roller coaster ride (much to the angst of Jason's stomach!!!)
Thankfully, we drugged Jason up with Dramamine and off they went. Tyler would jump off the ride and want to get right back in line again. Nothing seemed to phase him...he loved the thrill of it all!!!

Amy was thrilled to be in the land of princesses and fairies. They were EVERYWHERE!!! We stood in line for a VERY LONG TIME to get to see Tink, Vidia, and Rosetta. And then Amy turned into a fairy herself!

My biggest concern going into the trip was how Jackson would do without consistent naps. But he had just as much fun - if not more - as anyone else! He was nestled in his stroller most of the time...so he never had to worry about being jostled about by the crowds. He loved the rides he went on and went crazy during the parades!!! When he did get out of the stroller, he was energized by all that was going on around him and would do silly little dances in the middle of the streets! (Several times people actually stopped and watched him!)

And when he was tired...he just took a snooze!

Spending time together as a family - along with Mickey and the gang - made for one of the BEST vacations ever. We are exhausted and done with rides for awhile...but so grateful for the memories made!!!

So long, Mickey, hopefully we'll see you real soon!!!
