Grammie and Poppy...

Thankfully, after our trip to Disneyworld, we had something...or rather someone...to look forward to in coming home. Grammie and Poppy Jimenez arrived several days after we got back to Charlotte. The kids were definitely on "grandparent-excitement-overdrive"!!! It was such a fun week!!!

First off, we took Grammie and Poppy to the pumpkin patch. It was a gorgeous day, and this little guy just went crazy with all the pumpkins! He got so excited picking them up and running around. He wanted to take ALL of them home...not just one!

The older kids have been there before - and became the "expert-tour-guides"...explaining what we were going to do and what we would see and of course, how to pick out the best pumpkin!!!

A tradition at the patch, is to hop aboard one of several old tractors and jump back in time to farmer days! Jackson loved the view from up high!!

We had the hayride all to ourselves - as well as the petting barn. The owners of the farm came out and talked to us about each animal there and their little quirks. We probably spent an HOUR just in the barn...but now we know ALL about the animals at Hunter Farms! :-)

*This cow is 32wks pregnant and she didn't do very much while we were there. I don't even know if she MOVED...just stood there chewing her hay. She and I bonded! I was so tempted to trade places with her!!!

The next day we celebrated Grammie's birthday. And instead of treating HER to dinner she treated US!!! She made homemade Red Chile Colorado....ohhhhhhhhh...my favorite! I ate so much that night, and the next day, and the next! :-) She even left a batch in my freezer! That woman knows how to spoil her daughter-in-law!!!

We DID treat Grammie to her favorite cake!! :-)

And of course, there was much more playing, book reading, puzzle time, craft time, park time, and just fun times that week with Grammie and Poppy!!

Sadly, all visits come to an end. The kids were heartbroken the night before Grammie and Poppy had to leave. Amy tearfully prayed that God would make the sun go backwards (that was in our devotions the night before). But alas...it did not happen...and Grammie and Poppy had to leave!
The golden two weeks of Grandparents-spoiling-love-and-attention has come to an end. It is back to real life for these children! But we are so very blessed to have TWO amazing sets of Grammies and Poppies...we love you so very very much!!! Thank you for coming to see us!!
