The Jimenez Family

"Hey...the beach house is open this week...do y'all wanna go down?"
Is that even a valid question?!?!?!
ABSOLUTELY!!

BUT...we had one small problem...Tyler was committed to his football team.
And he would miss an entire week of practice and a game.
So...

he and I stuck around at the house while everyone else headed to the beach.

It was a hard choice but the right choice.
He was there for his team...

and for his big game.
And while he didn't win...he fulfilled his commitment.
As soon as the game was over, we packed up everything and headed to the beach to meet the family.

They had been busy spending time in the water...

and in the sand.

Everyone was glad to have Tyler back!!!

And I was super glad to have a few days to soak up the sun!!!

Jason spent the afternoons working on his masterpiece!!

We spent the evenings walking the beach and enjoying the sunset.

A quick trip but a great trip to one of our favorite places!!
So thankful for the time spent together and the memories made!

Even one abortion ought to prompt us to grief.
Every life lost, every life harmed, rips at the image of God Himself.
Every life lost is a horror and an unspeakable tragedy.
Human life does not consist in its “usefulness” or in its perceived power.
Human life bears inherent dignity because human life reflects the life of God Himself.
Russell Moore

Our family joined thousands of others to prayer walk around Charlotte's busiest abortion clinic.

Love Life is a ministry that started over a year ago with the desire to unite local churches together to end abortion.

This Saturday was the youth for life walk...

several thousand youth in Charlotte joined hands and hearts to pray that the tide of abortion would be held back.

That hearts would be turned.
That lives would be saved.
That clinics would be closed.

It was a powerful display of the Church showing up to stand firm against the battle lines of the enemy.
The next generation speaking up for the voiceless and crying out to their peers to chose life and not death.

Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?
Proverbs 24:11-12

There are several old phones around the house.
The kids use them for listening to music or Adventures in Odyssey…

or apparently recording a music video.
Somebody call Steve Harvey.
She's ready for the stage!
September 11
The date in history that brings back stark memories...pictures of crashing planes...burning buildings...terror...fear...unknown.
Each year we stop and remember.
As the kids have gotten older we have tried to explain as much as we think their hearts can handle.
This is their history - what happened in their country long before they were here.
How it has affected their country ever since.
And how it will affect their future.
This year we watched a documentary about the day...and it was hard.
So many lives lost.
So much sadness.
So few answers.
It proved to be overwhelming for our youngest...and with her sweet innocence...and tender heart...she decided to spend a little time on her own praying.
For her mommy and daddy to never crash in a plane.
For her siblings to be safe and not get hurt.
And for her GOD to always be GOD over all.
Amen.

Our family was asked to help celebrate a very special young lady...Ashlyn Fisher!
And we were happy to say YES!!!

Ashlyn has been a super sweet friend to Amy and Hailey and we were excited to spend the evening loving on her...and having a whole lot of fun!!

After pizza, we headed over to Sports Connection with the Fishers and the Rutherfords for the games!
First up was, laser tag! It was boys vs girls...and we were pretty evenly matched.

Couldn't get any pictures of that one because I was too busy running around trying to beat the BOYS!
Sadly, the girls lost each round.

But next up was bowling...and this time I was determined to score a "W"!!

Hailey's first time bowling!!!

Of course, Jason beat me...again.
After bowling...we headed to the arcade for some old fashion fun!

It was a great night celebrating our sweet friend...and having a blast trying to WIN! :-)
