The Jimenez Family

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.
John 10:10

Something MORE - that was the theme for Camp Carmel this year - the youth ministry camp.
Amy asked if I would go as a counselor...and it was a crazy, awesome week.
The message of the week came from John 10:10...Christ came to give us an abundant life.
To live for something MORE.

And along with the powerful messages and worship...

there was also those crazy games that seem all too familiar with youth camp!

I didn't see much of the big kids...but when I did, I snagged a hug or too to keep me going!

Tyler could be found on the basketball courts ANY time there was free time.

Some of the girls in my cabin!

Tyler and Stephen trying to stay dry and WARM. It was FREEZING one day while we were there.
Everyone had packed for summer...because it is JUNE...but we had a cold front come through.
We were thankful the next day when the sun came out!

So thankful these college kids came along...and the example they set for our kiddos!

It was a blessing and an honor to serve alongside of these women. I am thankful for their willingness to serve and to pour into the lives of the next generation!!

This obnoxious sign was how my small group would find me each day :-)

Tyler and his stinky basketball friends!

Amy and Ella practicing their verses...in order to get more points for their team...

the ninjas!

My small group.
I treasured the time I had with these junior and senior girls.
We talked about some very hard topics...and shared some deep hurts.
It was beautiful to watch them minister to each other through the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am thankful to have been able to see the body in action.

The last night, there is a tradition called the Legacy Walk.
The seniors lead the rest of the grades through a walk around the camp.
Each class igniting the flame for the grades below them.

Once we arrive, the seniors have the opportunity to bless the juniors...and the entire youth group.

It was a powerful night. One that each of these juniors (and all of us) will remember and treasure for a long time to come!

The three amigos...it wasn't often that they were apart this week.
So glad Tyler has good friends!!

Not all of the leaders are shown here...but it was a huge honor and blessing to serve alongside of this crew. My friends!!

And in case you think I worked the entire week...I did manage to join into some of those crazy games!!

The month of May started with this beauty getting a SECOND set of braces!

Her first set corrected her cross-bite and hopefully this set won't have to be on quite as long.
Two in braces at the same time!!! Ahhh!!! Tyler is due to get his off sometime in the fall.
And Jackson isn't too far behind. All these metal mouths!

We were invited up to Liberty University to celebrate Alexandra's graduation!!
She gave us a tour around the campus...and I think there might be one or two Jimenez kids that want to grow up and be a Liberty Flame!

We took a trip down memory lane with Mark and Angela (Alexandra's parents) to Boonsboro Country Club where they first met for a beautiful celebratory dinner!

And then it was graduation day!! Thankfully it didn't rain...but we were prepared just in case!

Perfect seats for the whole gang.

There she is!!! Woohoo!!!

So proud of this girl and excited to see how God will continue to use her as she lives her life for Him.

We didn't have much time when we got home...just enough to empty our suitcases and repack them for the BEACH!!

This was my Dad's face when I asked him if they wanted to come with us to the beach...

a definite YES!

My Dad LOVES the beach!!

The weather was absolutely perfect...with blue skies and blue waters.

It was a wonderful, relaxing time building memories and soaking up the sun.
When we got home, we celebrated my mom's birthday with a trip to the Cheesecake Factory!

So thankful to have had this time with my parents and to celebrate my mom!!

After we said goodbye to my parents, the big kids began preparing for their teaching.
Tyler partnered with his friend, Chris - and Amy partnered with Ella for Student Takeover Sunday.

They both prepared lessons to teach to an adult Sunday school class.

And I'm TOLD they did an amazing job...

they didn't want me to come in case I would throw them off! :-)

The end of May brought us some warm sunshine and trips to the indoor pool to get ready for the summer season.
Jackson took the swim test at the YMCA and got his GREEN BAND!
This means he will spend lots of time on the slides this summer! :-)

The month of May always brings graduation announcements.
This year we celebrated Annabelle and Kailey's graduation!!

So proud of these two and thankful for how they have poured into the lives of my kiddos!

And thankful for their mamas...and how they have let me try and follow closely in their footsteps!

Excited for what the future holds for these two!!

These two took me out to PF Changs for a late Mother's Day celebration.
It was fun to have some special time with just the two of them.

Memorial Day in Mint Hill had some AMAZING fireworks!

We met our friends down there just in time to spread out a blanket on the soccer fields and watch the display.

To close out the month of May, we went to go see the new Aladdin movie.

It was SO good!! I might or might not have been singing all of the songs throughout the movie.

It's getting hot...so in order to cool these two resort to this...

The merry month of May got the ball rolling on summer...hopefully we can stay caught up with it!!
