The Jimenez Family

Our precious little bundle from heaven is finally here and safely home!!! Hailey Anne Jimenez was born on Saturday, April 23rd around 5pm!!! She was 8.5lbs and 20.5inches long. And quite the little cutie pie!!!

Friday night, the kids and I headed to church for the Good Friday service. Jason and Jackson stayed home in the efforts to get over a nasty cold. While at church, I joked with the kids that we were going to have to climb up and down the four flights of stairs several times after church...in order to get this baby out! This was met with very little enthusiasm...so we nixed the idea.

Late that night and early Saturday morning I started to feel the beginning twinges of labor. Having only gone into labor one time (out of the three) I was hesitant to even put a label on what I was feeling. There was no way I was going to get everyone out of bed and head out to the hospital...only to discover that I was experiencing false labor pains!!!

But as the sun started coming up, my pains started getting closer together and more intense. Of course...before waking anyone up I decided there were things around the house that needed doing before actually heading to the hospital. An hour or so later...I finally woke up Jason and told him..."WE NEED TO GO!" By this time, the contractions were about two minutes apart. I was so hopeful we'd get to the hospital and Hailey would just pop right out!!!

On our way out the door...one last pic of a family of FIVE! :-)

On arriving at the hospital, the doctor immediately broke my water and predicted a baby within the next several hours. Well...several actually stretched into nine...little Hailey was stuck...face up...and had no inclination of coming out! But at long last...

...I finally got to hold my sweet little angel!

Daddy giving her the first bottle!

Proud big brother!

Over-joyed big sister!!

And alas...there will be no picture of Jackson holding Hailey. He had eyes only for Mommy and wanted absolutely nothing to do with the bundle of pink in everyone's arms!

Our first pic as a family of SIX!!!!

Now we are all home and adjusting to life with a newborn.

And praising God for His sweet little addition to our family!!
Saturday night was Father-Daughter Date Night at our church. It was talked about for WEEKS in our house...and there was much anticipation as the night drew closer. Amy deliberated over which dress to wear, what jewelry to accessorize with, and what shade of nail polish matched her dress. Everything had to be perfect for a night out with Daddy!!! Once at church she picked out a table with all of her sweet friends and their dads! I only wish I could have been there to hear the fun conversations!
One of Amy's best friends - Sophie.

I think the girls got a hold of the camera for some funny pics! :-)

She was all excitement when she got home. Time alone with Daddy is a treasure no matter what the occasion...but getting dressed up and pretty makes it all the more fun!

The boys were a little put out that the didn't get to "date-Daddy" (as Tyler put it.)

So several of us got together for a yummy Yoforia-Date.

No thoughts for pretty and sweet...these boys were absolutely silly and hyped up on sugar.

I know you have all been waiting with baited breath to see how potty-training has been going...of course, if you live anywhere near me you have already heard (or seen) how this past week has gone! :-) We started off last Monday with everything you could POSSIBLY need to potty-train...or so I thought. We had numerous pairs of underwear..."chonies" in our house...wipes, treats, a carpet cleaner at the ready, two AMAZING helpers, and gallons of juice! We even had fun new Mickey Mouse sippy cups. I was ready!! I got up early on Monday morning and fortified my weakening resolve with the Word of God and was convinced that no matter what the situation...I was ready - physically and emotionally!!! Ha ha ha...

Actually, Monday - was a relatively easy day. Jackson was intrigued with the idea and ran to the toilet every five minutes. There were very few accidents and by the end of the day I was convinced that this had been the right thing to do at the right time.

But now...we are a week into this venture. Yes, I have lost my patience. Yes, I have cried. Yes, I have doubted myself OVER and OVER again...in fact, you might have received a phone call, text or email this week from me...seeking advice on whether or not I really am crazy!!!!

Our "Three-Day-Potty-Training" method has turned into a relaxed week or so of potty training! He went through church without an accident and we've allowed him out in public (in chonies...no pull-ups!). He is dry during naptime and most of the night. So now...we are just trying to work out the occasional kinks here and there!

All in all...this little guy has handled this week like a champ. There is change on the horizon for all of us...and none of us adapt that quickly or smoothly to it. But eventually change becomes normal and diapers a thing of the past! Hopefully...right???

The final count-down has begun in the Jimenez household...we are all waiting and anticipating sweet little Hailey's arrival!!! Just a few more weeks and we make the jump from a family of five to a family of SIX!!! (for some reason that number just seems to much bigger than its predecessor!!!)

Change seems to be the theme around the house...in fact, Tyler commented on how crazy it has been lately over here. The first big change...Tyler lost his FIRST tooth!!! He is the last of his friends (and Amy's friends as well!) to hold onto his baby teeth! :-) When we went to the dentist last, he made mention of a wiggler down in front...and Tyler was on that sucker for the rest of the week. Unfortunately, it took several more weeks, apples, and some chewy candy to dislodge that stubborn tooth. But now...minus one tooth...Tyler is one happy guy!

Several weekends ago, the kids and I waddled (okay, I waddled...they walked) over to First Baptist to help with the Easter baskets for With Love From Jesus.

The kids had a BLAST packing baskets for homeless children, hospitalized children, and just those in need.

Tyler was my little helper with organizing and finishing the baskets.

Amy wanted to pack each basket full of toys and goodies!

Some of our highschool girls came out and helped pack baskets as well.

I was surprised at Amy and Tyler's response to the task. They put so much thought and care into each one...and with nothing to gain for themselves! They've asked each weekend since then if we could go back...and hopefully we'll have one last Saturday to spend packing baskets!!!

With Hailey getting ready to take over the "nursery" (I use that word very loosely!!!) Jackson has been booted from the crib...

And into his "big-boy" bed!

He is Mr Macho this week...getting to sleep underneath his big brother and having the freedom to get in and OUT whenever he so chooses. :-)

Another big change...someone graciously passed on their beloved trampoline to our very excited family!

With the sun shining and warming up their backs, the kids (all kids...meaning - mine and every neighborhood kid in the area!) have been jumping as much as possible!

If Hailey waits too long to come...I might have to get out there myself!

Sadly, this change was not welcomed in any way, shape, or form!!!

This used to be the bumper of Jason's car. Unfortunately, it met with a rod iron fence on a dark, rainy afternoon. Thankfully, NO ONE WAS HURT in the slightest and a new, shiny bumper will soon take its place!!! But cars take awhile to get fixed...and so...we will be hunkered down in our house for the next week. Being ambitious (and slightly crazy)...I decided it would be the PERFECT time to potty-train Jackson. I can hear all of the well-rehearsed arguments...but hopefully, by the end of this week we will be diaper free! (And there will be no stains or spots on the carpet!!)

So now I am officially caught up! :-)
