The Jimenez Family

I wish I could remember everything funny that Amy and Tyler have ever said...but of course I have already forgotten most of what happened yesterday!!!
But this afternoon the kids were eating a snack real quick. Amy had her crackers all spread out and she was moving her cup in different directions. She was motioning with her hands to the invisible people sitting around the table.
I told her to finish up her snack because we needed to get in the van. Then she said something to me with a smile and I thought I had misunderstood her. I asked her what she said...and she said,
"Mom, this is the Last Passover of Jesus Christ."

What? She is so funny! She has watched the Jesus movie for kids about a million times and Bible stories are her life at the moment. She loves to act them out. I pray that that will always be the case.

"All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children." Isaiah 54:13
Tyler has been learning over the last week how to ride his bike without training wheels. I'm not sure who gets more frustrated...Tyler or Daddy? They both set out excited and hopeful...and within about ten minutes the mood has changed. Their enthusiasm wanes and their patience gets zapped. But within 24 hours, they are suited up and ready to start anew!!! We are probably about two or three more days away from successful bike riding!!! Thanks to Dad!

Awhile back I had one of the highschool girls tell me that her mom makes a batch of cookie dough and then just leaves it in the fridge for everyone to nibble on...or make fresh cookies whenever they want them. Hm, does that ring any bells with anyone? You know who you are...and I know you are reading this blog!!! :-)
I have been craving anything chocolate for the last few weeks. This is not a good thing! If there is nothing available then I find myself munching on chocolate chips just to tide the craving! So I made a huge batch of double chocolate chip cookie dough this past week. We made fresh cookies every night and had some nibblings in-between as well! Having cookie dough in the fridge has definitely helped the cravings...but also the belly bulge! Here is the after-affect:

Honestly, this is not "all-baby"!!!! :-0

The beaters are the best part of "helping" Mom make cookies...
Okay, some of you might think this is cheesey...but I don't care!!!
Jason and Tyler were out cutting the grass this morning (thank goodness it is them and NOT me!!) and Tyler came running upstairs. "Look out your window, Mommy!" he said.
And this is what I saw -

You might not be able to see it, but Jay had cut in the grass "I Love U". He's so sweet....that he would even think to do that when its easier to just get the job done, makes me feel so special and cherished. What a sweet husband!!! :-)
Here are some pics from the last downpour...I was a little worried we'd have rain sloshing around in our kitchen. Thankfully we got one or two days of sun to dry us out before it started again. Is this monsoon season? Hee hee! Just kidding...we're not in Tucson anymore!!! :-)

We received the call early Tuesday morning that Jason's Grandfather had made his entrance into eternity. What a bittersweet day it was yesterday. Jay and I reminisced and talked about Grandpa. Its hard to be this far removed from the grief that is centered in Tucson. But I just wanted to take a second and remember Grandpa Pete...

Grandpa was what every Grandpa should be...fun-loving, full of laughter, always ready for a hug, quick with words of advice or wisdom and loved his Jesus. Grandpa had more random pieces of information than I could keep up with...how he remembered all that is beyond me! He welcomed every new "in-law" into the family right away and accepted them as a Jimenez from the start.
There are so many things to remember about Grandpa...but I think on the top of the list is how he LOVED his family. Jason and his brothers grew up living next to Grandma and Grandpa most of their lives. He always took the time to invest into his grandkids and they have those treasured memories even now.
I love you, Grandpa Pete, and I am envious of your amazing adventure in glory! But we will join you someday...
