The Jimenez Family

Have you ever been so caught up in your day, i.e. laundry, dishes, meal-planning, tidying, etc and then all of a sudden one comment from your child stops you in your tracks? Yesterday was a little bit of a crazy day...Jason has been itching to get color on the walls in our new house. We've picked out most of the colors for the walls but still had to get the one main color for our kitchen and living room picked out.

He was up by five in the morning painting the dining room and by seven-thirty when I emerged bleary eyed he was trying to go through all our paint swatches and find the right one for the other rooms. The day was a whirlwind of activity from the get go. We had four different families stop by throughout the day to see the house and the baby, made two trips to Lowes, a trip to Chick Fil A, two loads of laundry, a quick trip to the park, and probably ten dirty diapers! :-)

Throughout the day I was trying to return a phone call to one of my friends but we just kept missing each other. As we sat down to dinner, my phone rang but I didn't get it because we were all finally in one place sitting down!!! But I made the comment that my friend and I kept playing phone tag...

Tyler looked up at me and said, "Mom, how do you play that game?"

Jason and I just laughed and laughed (much to Tyler's dismay - he really thought we were gonna play a game). And I chuckled when I got ready for bed last night and it even made me smile this morning. I love those little moments when their cute little innocence reminds you that life is so very short. He will not always by my little guy! Treasure the sweet gifts God has given you. And thank the Lord that He stops our day to remind us to smile! :-)
12 POUNDS!!!!!

While my mom was here she blessed us with a date night. All three children were under her watchful care while Jason and I had a much needed, much anticipated and much celebrated date!!! Its been awhile since our last date and we enjoyed it so much more also because we have no idea when there will be another! :-)
Right before we left, Tyler and Amy were asking why we were going out by ourselves. (They have gotten used to me dragging them every where we go! :-) My mom was explaining to them that Mommy and Daddy need time to spend with each other...to be friends, to talk, to laugh, etc.
She's right...we all need to take time out for each other. While the demands of my children seem at times to be all consuming...or more important than anything else...my marriage ultimately is the stabling force of this family. Our relationship with the Lord and our relationship with each other is what will enable them to feel loved, secure and consequently allow me to take care of their needs!
Our night out was short...only a few hours...but the benefits of time spent with my best friend, my one true companion, my hero...will last well beyond that night! Thanks Mom for allowing us that refreshing time together!!!

My mom has been here for the last week...and it has been WONDERFUL!!! I am so sad that we have a little less than three days with her before she heads back home. Needless to say, we have been too busy to blog! I know I promised pictures so here are a few!!!

Such a cutie pie!!

Sweet Brother and Sister

We have moved!!! Yipee!!! So long to our fun little apartment (believe me, the novelty had long worn off!!!) and hello to our brand new house!

It was a crazy weekend! Trying to herd all the help, feed them, unpack boxes, a baby shower with the youth group, getting my Mom from the airport, and taking care of my sweet kids. But on Saturday night...we all slept in our own rooms in our new house!

More pictures to come soon...of baby and house! :-)
The last couple of days...since the arrival of our little one...have been filled with feedings, diapers, visitors, yummy meals...and a lot of coming and going. Jason has tried to take the kids out every day to give me time to spend with Jackson for resting and recuperating.
But the other night, Jason and Tyler went out just guys and Amy and I had our "just girls" time (albeit Jackson was present...just asleep!

And here is what we decided to do...

"Big-girl" Makeup...this is real folks...not pretend!!!

Lovely...

Have to get the right color scheme!

Ready for a night on the town!!!! (or a bath?)
