Speed...I am speed...

We had been planning to load everyone up after church on Sunday and trek our way down to the beach. But with three out of six family members recovering from sickness...we decided we should stay close to home and have a "staycation"!
On Monday, we headed out to Nascar Speedpark for a day of "speedy" fun!!!

Jackson is still a bit too short to reach the pedals and steering wheel at the same time...but he did have fun trying out all the different cars!

Because it is the off season...we basically had the entire park to ourselves.
One of the workers followed us around the park...turning on whatever ride we wanted to go on.
Which meant...unlimited fun!!!



Mommy...obviously ahead of EVERYONE and not letting anyone pass!!


Jason and I took turns watching and cheering with the lil guys!


Seriously, I was born to race!!!
I probably had the most fun out of everyone!
After we had been there for about an hour - two other couples showed up.
Then it was game on! I raced with them around the track and showed my true Jeff-Gordon-like-skills!
It was very hard to climb into the pokey-ole mini-van after this experience!!!

Amy was a little intimidated by all the fast cars...this one was more to her liking!


Future speedster??


All that racing worked up an appetite...we headed to lunch at the food court.
Hailey has been eating more and more solid foods...so we gave her a french fry to try!

After lunch, the older kids and Jason headed back to the race cars.
Jackson and I were ready for some put-put golf!

After golf and some more laps on the track, we decided to call it a day! But as we were walking out...Jason remembered that they had laser tag upstairs.
And since we had the place all to ourselves...we ALL played laser tag!!!


Tyler was a little crazy with the laser...no mercy for anyone...even those holding babies!!!

The family that plays together...stays together!!! :-)
It was a crazy game of tag - boys against girls...although...the girls were at a slight disadvantage...Hailey can't quite aim when she shoots!
It was a super fun day...one that will go down in the books!
And while we weren't sitting on the sand - listening to the crashing waves - smelling the fresh salty air - we still had a great time!
