Dreaming of Springtime...
Last week graced us with several days of warm... sunshiny...beautiful weather!
The kids were outside almost EVERY day...doing school, eating lunch...and of course...playing!
On Saturday, Tyler and Amy had some special friends over for the day.
With the Superbowl coming up in a few weeks...my kids have been OBSESSED with football.
So, naturally, as soon as the teams were selected the kids began their own superbowl...complete with downs, plays, and team names!
I'm not sure who won...I was trying to referee as much as possible...while keeping an eye out for the little (inexperienced) ball players running underfoot!
All to quickly, the weather turned back to cold, rainy, and dreary.
But thankfully...we had a super fun field trip planned to keep us upbeat!
Tuesday morning we headed to the local Krispy Kreme factory...YUMMY!!!
We learned all about glazes, jellies, and the importance of ICE (who knew?).
The kids drooled over the donuts as they popped onto the conveyor belt and longingly eyed the frosting as it slathered over each donut.
At the end of our tour...EVERYONE received a "sample" cup of fresh donut holes.
We had emptied three cups in about three minutes! DELISH!!!
After the tour we headed over to the mall close-by and let everyone run the sugar off!
Lego store, Disney store and Bass Pro shop kept them entertained for hours!
It is a sweet blessing to have friends that get to share in all of our adventures and field trips!
And now...as the rain drizzles down and the clouds threaten to snow...we are back to dreaming of springtime!!!
