Gingerbreads and Pizzas...

There are so many fun things to do in Charlotte during the Christmas season. I knew we were only going to be home for two weeks before leaving on our long trip out west...so I tried to cram in as many "memory-making" opportunities as possible. One morning, we met some of our homeschooling friends at the Ballantyne Resort and strolled through the gingerbread village.

The kids had a great time looking at all of the different creative displays.
Each of them had to fight the temptation to touch the little decorative pieces...the little chocolate chips peeking up from the sugar snowflakes.

Although the contest had already been judged and the ribbons placed...each of the kids decided which one they liked best...based on looks...AND which one would TASTE the best!! :-)

This was my personal favorite...

and Hailey's too.
Although...Hailey was especially enamored with the Frozen castle...but there were too many people surrounding it at the time that I failed to get a picture!

and this was the boys favorite!!

In the center of the resort is this HUGE Christmas tree.
We caused a little bit of a stir in the quiet lobby of this beautiful resort :-)

After salivating over all those houses...we decided to head over to Farley's Pizza.

Our lively group filled the entire restaurant...and even Farley himself came out and greeted us!
A fun morning spent with special friends!
