Going to the Chapel...
One of the sweetest joys of doing youth ministry...is watching your "kids" grow up, make life decisions, and experience God's faithfulness in their own lives!
Almost a year ago, I received a phone call from a very giddy, excited young woman.
"I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!" was what I understood...after three attempts at talking through tears and laughter!
In the next breath..."Will Jason do the wedding?"
And then..."Will your kids be in the wedding?"
So...Tyler and Amy were selected to take part in one of the highlights of our summer.
Amy as the flower girl...and Tyler as the...well...the sign bearer?
They were both a bit nervous about how they would execute their honored positions.
Tyler was a bit apprehensive about "everyone looking at him" and thinking he's so "cute" (not something an eight year old kid wants to hear).
Amy was thrilled to be all "dolled up" and the center of attention for all of two minutes!
Jason and I were able to share in the pre-wedding preparations.
Praying for the bride and groom...wiping away a few tears...and putting the finishing touches on decor.
Both kids did a fabulous job walking down the aisle.
During the wedding...as you can see from the above picture...Amy was all giggles and excitement.
Unfortunately, those aren't exactly compatible with a wobbly unity candle table.
So after several nervous glances from the mother of the bride...Amy was relegated to the END of the bridal party rather than next to the bride.
And while she was definitely put out (to say the least)...we avoided a near catastrophe and I was able to breath for the rest of the ceremony!!!
Jason did a beautiful job...and soon enough...they were Mr & Mrs!!!
The beautiful bride!!!
We were so blessed...as a FAMILY...to take part in this beautiful day!
A true testimony to God's faithfulness and truth at work in their lives!
