Anchors away...

Sixteen years of marriage.
College degree.
Four kids.
Four houses.
Two states.
Five different jobs.
Five churches.
Lots of ministry.
Six published books.
So much to celebrate!!

For our anniversary we decided to splurge a little bit and celebrate with a cruise.

We have not ever been on a cruise before...so we hunted for one that we thought would be:

1) reasonably priced and 2) pretty location.

We settled on a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas. Once on board, we wasted NO time in exploring all of the different restaurants.
We loved the Guy Fieri hamburger joint...the fresh pizza (which you could have ANYtime of the day or night) and the Mexican restaurant.
And then of course, the soft serve ice cream...served all hours day and night.
Pretty much, anything and everything was available!

The first day was spent in Nassau.
We bought a pass to a resort on the island so we could Facetime the kiddos and also spend some time...

relaxing...

and soaking up the gorgeous scenery.

We loved every minute of our day!

Of course, Jason needed to stop and talk to all the "locals"!

We had asked a street vendor to make a memento of our trip...and he did a beautiful job!

That night was our "fancy" night back on the ship...so we got all gussied up for dinner.

The next day was spent in Freeport.
There is not a lot to do in this port...but we chose a bicycle tour of the island.

Twelve miles of biking helped with ALL of the food we had already consumed on the trip!

We loved getting to see the island this way.
Our tour guide had grown up on the island and plied us with all the history of the island.

The tour ended at a beautiful private garden.
It was filled with lush waterfalls and exotic birds.
Such a treat after our long day of biking!

That was our last night on the ship...so we decided to forego the fancy dinner and hit up all of our favorite spots one more time.
We might have over indulged...just a bit!!!
There was a movie on the top deck and so we grabbed a blanket and a fresh bag of popcorn and enjoyed our last night.

It was a wonderful trip.
We have SO much to be thankful for over these last sixteen years...
and this was the perfect way to top it all off!!
