Talent Show (with very little talent appearing!!!)
and some very LOUD music...

...our annual high school Christmas party!

This year the students wanted to ditch the ugly sweaters and get fancied up for the party! Most years, I would've readily agreed as it is sometimes hard to find an ugly sweater. But this year...it appealed to me....cozy sweatpants...ugly sweater...pregnant belly?? Oh well!!!

It was a great time to hang out with our students...much of them relaxing after a grueling week of finals!

Across the hall...there was ANOTHER party going on. Unfortunately, we were only able to pop-in and grab some "real food" from the pastor/elder Christmas party!

Obviously, no ugly sweaters at this party!

Or loud music!
Although...I did hear about a rousing rendition of Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer! And Santa even made an appearance at this party. (AKA Dr Munro! ;-)

We got to bed late and were up bright and early the next morning for AWAKE.

The Siskey Y put on a teen prayer breakfast at Carmel Baptist and Jason was the speaker. There were over a hundred and fifty teens from around Charlotte that came out on a very cold and wet Saturday to commit this holiday season to prayer. Prayer for their own hearts to be committed to the Lord, for their families, churches, schools, etc.
Jason's message was based on John 12 and Mary's sacrifice/anointing. He challenged the students to think of their sacrifice during this self-centered time of year.

It was awesome to watch our teens be a part of this event and for them to see other teens across Charlotte commited to the Lord.

A weekend full of business...but also of time spent renewing our hearts and preparing for the coming celebration this next weekend!!!
