And the gift goes on...

Its inevitable. The bigger your family is...your opportunities for sickness increase rapidly. Add to that a large church with many stays in the nursery and you are guaranteed several visits to the doctor over the course of flu season.
There are several families (ours included) that have shared these sick bugs for quite some time. And thus....the gift goes on and on and on!
The first week it was the stomach bug...and it hit Jackson and Amy - which they then shared with two other families! Jackson didn't seem phased all that much. Amy...she was down for the count! But she did not go down without a FIGHT!!! Every time Amy was sick, she would yell at the top of her lungs...while doubled over the toilet. Here are some of her choice phrases:
Get me a doctor!!!
Where is that doctor!?

I need my Daddy.

I am so sick...I don't think I can bear it anymore!

Why is this happening to me?

When is this going to be over?

I'm dying...MOMMY, I'm DYING!!!!!

Amy has always had a flair for the dramatics....being sick had very little affect on this! :-) Poor girl was sick as a dog...and her mommy was trying her hardest to keep from chuckling at her outbursts!

Thankfully, she got well just in time for the Christmas concerts that she and Tyler performed in. The theme was: A Night of Hope...so we were HOPING that the gift of sickness would end there.
(I know...so corny...sorry!)

But unfortunately...once again Jackson brought home some germs to share with us! This time we decided to just hunker down and wait it out at home. Not hard to do when it is FREEZING outside! So, fortified with lots of library books, Christmas movies, hot tea and warm cocoa we stayed home for several days...focused on getting better!

Thankfully, the older two were able to go to a super fun birthday party (complete with tons of candy and all things sweet)! And then all of us were able to go see the gingerbread houses at the Ballantyne Resort with our fun friends, the Bruce family.

We have round two of a crazy, busy weekend. Another visit to the nursery and Sunday School...hoping not to give any germs or receive any germs! But we'll see! Tis the season! And the gift goes on and on and on....
